Most sponsor child organisations require a minimum of two months notice to arrange a visit with a sponsored child. It takes a considerable amount of time for the field country staff to make the necessary arrangements, so we cannot guarantee approval for a visit with less than the minimum required notice.

Visit Tips

You can take gifts or take your child and their families shopping for clothes, toys or personal goods when you arrive.

Practical gifts like a backpack, soft toy, colouring book, bubble blower etc. are always appreciated.

Expensive toys are often of little value.

You’ll need to undergo a police check and contribute $100 towards the administration costs.

On the day of the visit, you’ll be escorted to the visit with a staff member and translator from the child sponsor organisation.

As a rule, women are requested to dress modestly and not wear mini-skirts or low-cut tops when visiting field offices, churches and child development centres.
