ST GEORGES COLLEGE STUDY TOUR- JUNE 12 - 7 JULY 2012
Situated only a few minutes from the Old City of Jerusalem, St. George’s College provides year round
courses that combine academic study, spirituality and travel.
Faith is transformed as you encounter the land and reflect with other course participants on the meaning
of Christian discipleship. Understanding is enhanced as you listen to trained guides and academics.
Regular worship and discussion sessions help you to meditate on the experience.
With St George’s all your needs will be taken care of as you visit the holy places, meet the people of the
land and study the Bible in a new context. Situated in the grounds of the Anglican Episcopal Cathedral,
St. George’s College is one of the institutions of the Diocese of Jerusalem. Ecumenical and interfaith, the College is open to people
of all traditions. Courses are taught in English and are open to everyone, clerical and lay.
The St Georges College Palestine of Jesus course provides the best introduction to the Holy Land.
The 14 day study tour combines study with pilgrimage. It focuses on key elements of the Gospel narrative
of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in the sacred landscape where the story unfolded. Visits are
made to Bethlehem, Nazareth, The Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, Mount Tabor, the Judean desert and
others. Then we trace the Passion narratives through visits to Bethany, the Mount of Olives, the Garden of
Gethsemane and the Church of the Resurrection. After the 2 week intensive there is an opportunity to
travel down to the Dead Sea, Red Sea and experience the highlights of Jordan including Wadi Rum and Petra.
The tour is being escorted from Australia by Prof Greg Jenks as far as Jerusalem.
